I’m A Hurting Unit

On Wednesday my coworkers did a Safety Blitz Day. That’s where a large group of supervisors go out and make sure that there are no rules infractions going on. Because we working in an unforgiving environment, it is essential that employees exercise caution out in the field.

Afterwards there was “Team Building” at an indoor Go Kart track. We’ve done this in the past and it seems to be a favorite of many. A boost of adrenaline, lots of smack talk, and of course driving fast.

This was a lot of fun… at the time… But the aftermath on my body was brutal. The next day I had bruises along my back ribs. Over the past few days, my legs have been cramping and I literally moan when I have to stand up from a seated position.

I’m not a youngster anymore and can’t put my body through that kind of abuse. No matter how fun it is.
