Just like the rest of you, I see videos of “Life Hacks” in my newsfeed all the time. Some are kind of neat, others are down right ridiculous. I found one that I had seen numerous people do and claimed to work, so I put it to the test.

Our daughter received a mug for Christmas. She loved it. But upon the second or third time using it, she noticed it had a hairline crack.

Liquid would essentially “bleed” out the side of her mug. What I found strange is that there was no visible crack on the inside. Off to the Internet I went in search of how to fix this. Turns out people say to use milk.

So I did what the Internet recommended. Boiled the mug in some milk. Then let it cool before cleaning it off. You know what?

It didn’t work.

The mug still leaks. Perhaps I did something wrong. Or perhaps it simply doesn’t work. Either way, my daughter still has a lovely pen holder mug.
