Last year I wrote about my successes involving my Deep Fryer. To get there, I did have to suffer a few catastrophic trials. No injuries to myself mind you. There was that time my wife got a blister on her eyeball from an oil droplet flying at her. That was gross.
But it didn’t happen to me, so we will say it’s all good.
My failures have included food attempts. The first was when I was a teen. I thought it would be an easier way to make a grilled cheese sandwich by deep frying it.
The bread morphed into a crispy oil coral reef and the cheese disintegrated into the oil. Big fail. Never again. Not even worth trying to eat.
Another time, I attempted to make deep fried pancake wrapped breakfast sausage. This also failed because of too much batter and the oil overtook the pancake making it extremely greasy. Thank goodness I had other goodies that day to make.
But these failures won’t stop me from trying new foods to deep fry. I want to make deep fried California Rolls one day, just like my favorite Sushi Restaurant- Nikko Sushi– does. Mmmm deep fried sushi….
Tonight I am making schnitzel and using my deep fat fryer. I have perfected this recipe and my family loves it. So even though I have made mistakes along the way, I have had numerous successes as well.
But let’s pretend that a deep fried grilled cheese would taste good, ok? Or use this Secret to making a good grilled cheese. Trust me.
I don’t watch a lot of sports as it is. So today, it didn’t matter to me that there was a foosball game on.
This is now the second year in a row that I haven’t watch the game. The only thing I really missed was the excessively unhealthy food I would make. I love my Deep Fryer. I even made Spam Fries the other day. Wow were those tasty A.F. Besides the deep fryer, we would make a spicy chili, sandwiches and tons of salty snacks. Of course, we would share with friends.
I do love a Superb Owl and can’t wait to go to Japan and check out an Owl Cafe. That is probably going to be one of the biggest highlights of our trip. But has nothing to do with football.

Summer is over. Time to move from delicious fresh fruit and garden vegetables towards the rich and totally-going-to-kill-you foods. Maybe not that extreme, but pretty close.
My wife and kids have been craving deep-fat-fried goodies lately. So tonight I shall make a healthy supply of foods. By healthy, I mean “satisfactory size or amount” not “indicative of, conducive to, or promoting good health.” Tonight’s meal will be artery clogging goodness. I can already feel the sluggishness setting in. Thank goodness we won’t need to wear shorts or swimsuits as winter approaches.
Besides engaging in more deep fried foods, I look forward to heavier and heartier meals in the fall and winter as well. Warm stews and soups. With a couple of big turkey dinners before the end of the year thrown in the mix. This means leftovers that are great for stews and soups also. Mmmm…
Enough talk, time to settle in at home and live the good life. Let’s deep fry something!
