Cosplay Roots

Today our oldest came over to the house. They wanted to work on their cosplay. We have a ton of crafting materials readily available for use in any number of fun projects. We used to make loads of cosplay as a family. We even called our spare room in our last home “The Cosplay Room”.

Our oldest is working on an Outer Worlds inspired costume. They asked if I could assist in getting the lights for their mask installed. A bit of wiring and soldering was done and the final product looks great.

The hardest part about making cosplay is cleaning up. It’s always fun to create art. Some trial and error and lots of experience from years of costume making. But cleaning up after hours and hours of making a mess sucks.

Our oldest will be back on Sunday to continue on with their cosplay. They have asked if I can resin print an item for them prior to their return. Hopefully I’ll have it ready for them in time. Most likely I will. I plan to start the print tomorrow. Using a 3d or resin printer has really helped in making props.

I love tinkering and creating. Cosplay is a fun way to do this. I’ve loved doing this for years. I’m glad to help our oldest with their project. I’m also glad they have asked me to help. It means a lot to me.
